Principal's Message
As we approach the final weeks of the school year, it’s wonderful to reflect on the energy and accomplishments that have filled our recent days.
Our VCE exams have now concluded, and I would like to commend all our senior students for their focus and determination throughout this demanding period. Meanwhile, our Years 9 to 11 exams have run smoothly, with students approaching them with a commendable level of seriousness and preparation. These experiences are invaluable stepping stones, building the skills and habits that will serve them well in their future VCE years.
On Wednesday night, we hosted our annual Presentation Night, a highlight of our school calendar where we celebrated the achievements of our students alongside their families. We were privileged to hear from past student Kim Hesse, whose inspiring journey from MGSC to a successful career in events management highlighted the power of adaptability and perseverance. Kim shared how she transformed her business to meet changing market demands, reminding us all of the importance of resilience and innovation.
Thursday evening brought the long-anticipated return of the Year 10 Social. This event was a collaborative effort with our Year 10 students, who played a key role in its organisation. It was a joyous occasion, filled with laughter, music, and a sense of camaraderie that will undoubtedly be remembered fondly.
Last week was also a spectacular one for the performing arts at MGSC, with three incredible events showcasing our students’ creativity and talent. The Year 11 Theatre Showcase and the Year 10 play both received glowing reviews, and they had a special guest, Rob Mills, theatre professional visit to work with the Year 10 class before attending their play. I understand his insights and support were invaluable, and it was a fantastic opportunity for our students to learn from someone with such extensive industry experience.
Looking ahead, next week we begin our Headstart program, an exciting time when students step into their 2025 classes and begin laying the foundation for the year ahead. This program is a chance to set goals, build new connections, and get a “head start” on their studies for the upcoming year.
Thank you for your ongoing support as we celebrate the achievements of our students and prepare for the opportunities to come.
Warm regards
Linda Brown
