It's Physical
Year 9 ‘Brother Boxing’
A huge thank you to Nicola and Jacks from Brother Boxing for running our Year 9s through a high intensity boxing session as part of their Fitness unit!
It is fantastic to hear that a few students have decide to head to their local gyms and start participating in boxing class. We are aiming to spark a passion for fitness in all of our students by exposing them to a variety of activities, so it is great to see students getting involved in physical activity outside of school.
Year 8 - ‘Off the Street Hip Hop’
Thank you to the amazing instructors from ‘Off the street Hip Hop’ for getting our Year 8 students dancing to the beat in a variety of Hip Hop sessions.
There are so many reasons why dance is important to the health and development of our young people. Above all, our students need to move, and dance is a great way to do this in a fun environment. Along with the physical benefits, dance has also been proven to increase cognitive development in remembering dance sequences. So we look forward to seeing the dances our students come up with at the end of this unit.

Interschool Sport
MGSC teams success and progression to State final level has them still competing deep into the year. This is one of the final reports.
Year 8 Cricket
On Friday 22 November, the Year 8 Cricket team competed in the State quarter finals. Over the course of the year, this team has grown so much and developed skills that helped them to get to this level. The team won the District and Regional grand finals to get to this stage.
The game was in Drouin, and with the 30+ degree heat it was very tiring for the girls, but they still gave it their best effort. There were lots of great catches and wickets from the girls and plenty of boundaries. Although the outcome wasn’t in our favour, the girls gave it a good shot. It's so inspiring to see girls that have never touched a cricket bat participate and smash it.
