New Initiatives, Practices and Projects at Holy Cross in 2025

Exciting things are happening at Holy Cross in 2025! Children can enjoy a variety of engaging lunch clubs, including Chess, Sports, Maths Olympiad, Choir, and Art.

Literacy will be enriched through Synthetic Phonics Instruction using DRA (Decodable Readers Australia) resources, while P.E. sessions will be extended to one-hour blocks from Wednesday to Friday. The newly redeveloped Holy Cross Expectations Matrix will promote positive behaviour across the school, and the New English Curriculum, Version 2.0, will be rolled out to further enhance learning outcomes. A year of growth and opportunity awaits!

Prep - Yr 1 upcoming MOI and DIBELS assessments 2025:

Year 1 Assessments: MOI and DIBELS assessments will take place on Wednesday, 29th January 2025. A booking sheet will be sent out prior to the end of term for families to schedule a 1-hour timeslot for their child’s assessments.

Prep Assessments: MOI and DIBELS assessments for Prep children will commence in Week 2 of Term 1, 2025, and will take place on Wednesdays only. Prep 2025 parents will also receive a booking sheet before the end of term to book a 1-hour timeslot for their child.
