SEPS Academy
Fridays have been a hive of activity at SEPS this year with students having Creative Communities and SEPS Academy. Below is a snapshot of what has been happening lately in some of our SEPS Academy clubs...
In Mind and Body, we've been learning about emotional literacy with fun activities like BINGO! We’ve also explored ways to help ourselves feel calmer by using sensory items like sand, playdough, and mindful walks. Plus, we’re discovering how to keep our bodies healthy through dancing – and we love seeing everyone’s dance moves!
Our Parks & Rec team has been transforming the school gardens and adding reminders to walk safely around them, helping us take care of our plants. We’re so lucky to have these handy helpers working to improve our school grounds!
SEPS News has been hard at work lately, creating SWPBS (School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support) PSA videos for the school to watch in assemblies and classrooms. They’ve also been producing Teacher Spotlight videos for assembly, giving our community a closer look at our amazing teaching staff and helping to strengthen our connections. And as always, SEPS News keeps everyone updated with birthday and weather videos for assemblies, too. They’re certainly a busy bunch on Friday afternoons!
Coding
This year, the coding club has been exploring with Spheros. Currently, they are in the midst of a Robothon! Students compete in the Robmaze, Robodash,Roborun and the Robbash. Like any great competition, the 'SEPS Robothon' is giving out winning medals as well. What a fun place to be!
Looking ahead to 2025...
In the coming weeks, teachers will meet with students to discuss which SEPS Academy clubs they’d like to see offered next year. This gives students a chance to share their interests so we can create a variety of clubs they’re excited to join!
