What an epic weekend we all experienced at the fete!
Although a bit warm, it was wonderful to see the joy on the children’s faces as they walked through the gates, not knowing where to go first, snow cones or rides?! A massive congratulations to Claire, Mel and the entire team for providing a successful event and a memorable day for our children.
The Mural is shining bright in our school yard and we thought it would be great to communicate the Indigenous story within our Mural. We will get a plaque made to attach to the wall so that everyone can learn about its connection to country.
“This mural reflects the school’s journey of reconciliation, connecting the past, present, and future. The flowing journey lines represent this ongoing journey and commitment. The animals and waterways included are significant to the Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation, the traditional owners of the land, reminding us of their deep connection to the environment.
Seven meeting places are scattered throughout the mural, each one symbolising a year level, marking the different stages of each student’s learning and growth. The people symbols, varying in shape and size, represent the diversity of the school community, students, teachers, and staff—all coming together.
This mural highlights the importance of respect, understanding, and unity as we continue on the shared journey toward reconciliation.”
With the end of the year fast approaching, it’s time to start preparing for the year ahead. On Monday 2nd December, we come together for the P&F/AGM and celebrate the success of the year. Everyone is welcome to attend & we would love to see new faces. If you would like to be involved in the P&F next year, please feel free to come along & have a chat.
Kind regards,
Lauren Koukoumanos & Claudelle Salter
If you would like to be part of helping our school next year and adding to our wonderful sense of community, please consider joining the 2025 P&F Team. It is a great way to contribute to the development of the school and meet other parents.
We are looking for two parent representatives from each year level, who are responsible for updating the parents in their year level with important information/reminders, and organising a couple of events throughout the year. For example, the Grade 1 P&F representatives host the Morning Tea for new and current families on the first day of school.
Feel free to chat to this year's P&F members if you would like some more information or, better still, if you would like to get involved. You can also speak with me in person or email any questions or ideas to principal@olacheltenham.catholic.edu.au
