SLA

This term SLA have been working in different groups on a variety of projects ~ Strive to Thrive

The Grade 6 girls have been participating in a program with Rhoe focused on

empowerment. Together, they have explored what it means to empower others, who inspire them, and how they can contribute to uplifting those around them. As part of this journey, the girls have conducted interviews with fellow students, teachers, and community members, gathering diverse perspectives on global issues and ways to empower others. They have also researched influential individuals from around the world who have driven positive change and inspired society. In addition, the girls have reached out to politicians with questions about their experiences and their visions for creating a better society. Excitingly, in the coming weeks, they will have the opportunity to meet an AFLW Carlton player and a former counselor, gaining further insight and inspiration for their empowerment journey.

The Grade 6 boys have been working with Connie on an exciting project to design a Gaga Pit for the school. Inspired by the fun they had playing Gaga Ball during camp; the boys are now channeling their creativity and problem-solving skills into developing a design for this future school project. Through this activity, they are honing their inquiry skills and collaborating to create a plan that could benefit the entire school community.

The Grade 5 students have been participating in a leadership program designed to help them prepare for applying to positions such as School Captain and Sports Captain. Through this program, they have been learning about the qualities of effective leaders, including communication, teamwork, and responsibility. Students have engaged in activities that challenge them to think critically, collaborate, and step out of their comfort zones. They have also been exploring what it takes to represent their peers and act as role models within the school community. This program encourages them to reflect on their strengths and identify areas for growth as they work towards taking on these important leadership roles next year.
