Boys Southern Metro Region Netball Results

Our Year 6 Netball boys won the Southern Metro Region Netball final and are off to the State Finals at Waverley Netball Centre next Friday 8th September, good luck boys!

HPV Try-outs

On Thursday the 24th of August, 42 Grade 6 students made their way to Casey Fields to begin HPV tryouts. 24 of these students, 12 boys and 12 girls, will make up the Derinya HPV teams for 2023. They will spend 8 weeks training and learning everything about Human Powered Vehicles. They will work together as a team to build and race a HPV at Maryborough for 14 hours against other schools across Australia.

Hoop-time Results

All Star Girls went undefeated all day to win the District title. They will advance to Division Finals in October.

All Star Boys tried hard all day despite being undersized. They finished third, losing in the Semi Final by 4 points to the eventual winners Kunyung.

We had two mixed teams in the future stars division, one coming runner up after losing their Grand Final by 10 points and the other finishing 5th overall.

All students represented Derinya with excellent sportsmanship on the day.
