Week 10, Term 3
We are excited to once again be celebrating 'Be Awesome Day' with a variety of different stalls run by each of our classes! Below we have a list of what each of our Grade 3/4 classes have chosen and the donations that are required.
If you have any further questions, please contact your child's teacher directly. Thankyou so much for your assistance with this!
3/4 Green (Face painting): as assortment of coloured face paints
3/4 Schulz (Lucky Shot): lollies (GF/DF), books, fidgets, small toys, Kmart stationary, school supplies, packets of stickers, stamps, pencils, rubbers, bookmarks, jewellery, teddies, etc.
3/4 Daenke (Cake Stand): 3-4 Daenke students will be assigned a colour then be asked to provide 16 of something in that colour. For example: if your colour is orange, you could bring a tray of 16 orange poppyseed muffins, or if your colour is purple, you could donate 16 grape-flavoured lollipops.
Our hope is to have enough treats for one for each child in the school! They do not need to be large. Small treats are ok too. If your donation is a home-cooked item, we will need a recipe attached to the donation, in order to be aware of possible allergens (such as gluten, dairy etc).
3/4 Mitchell (Temporary Tattoos): an assortment of school appropriate temporary tattoos
3/4 Staley/Alexander (Lucky Bags): small toys, stickers, lollies etc. that are suitable for lucky bag prizes
A few of our Grade 3/4 classes celebrated their 1500 sticker milestones with a class party last Friday! Thankyou so much to everybody who helped contribute to these celebrations and well done to our students for the hard work they have put in this year to reach this milestone
Mathematics: During the first fortnight of Term 4, students will look at 'Fractions', 'Decimals' and 'Percentages' in our Fluid Groups. In Applied Maths we will continue to develop skills in how to read and plot coordinates. We will also review our understanding of 'Perimeter' and 'Area' and discuss the relationship between the two.
Writing & Reading: In Writing, students will explore the text 'Hello, Mr World' and use it as a basis for researching and writing about topics such as endangered animals, population and how we can help our planet. Using this information, students will either write a Persuasive or Informative piece about the importance of looking after our planet.
In Reading, we will research some of the different flags that we have in Australia as well as record our thoughts before, during and after we read texts as a group.
Topic: Next term we will begin our new Topic called 'Our Island Home'. In this unit, students will design and create their own 'island' with a capital city, natural vegetation, monuments/sacred sites, surrounding oceans, symbols, etc. all the while reflecting on the features of our own beautiful island home - Australia.
In celebration of finishing our Term 3 unit, check out some photos of our balloon-powered cars below!
