Melbourne Zoo
I really liked that the seal was playing with the class. The seal was pretending to bite our fingers. I also liked watching the active Meerkats and putting our heads in the looking bubbles. – Emma 1/2 Todeschini
I like how the monkeys were making a funny sound. It sounded kind of like a siren. They were swinging around the trees going a little crazy. - Louie 1/2 Todeschini

When we all got to the zoo the first thing we saw were the dingoes, but my favourite animal was the platypus. - Charlotte 1/2 Murphy

Last week we were lucky enough to go to the Melbourne Zoo! My favourite animal was the dingo. When we got to the Dingo Enclosure, I wanted a photo with the dingo so I got Mr Crawford to take one. – Flynn 1/2 Crawford
When we went to the Melbourne Zoo last week I had a great time and my favourite animal was the Otters. My favourite part of the Zoo to explore was the Trail of the Elephants. I loved this part because I love elephants and I hadn’t seen them for a while. – Ivy 1/2 Crawford
I really liked the trip to the Melbourne Zoo and I especially liked the Elephant Trail and the Lion Gorge. My favourite animals were the Elephants, Lions and Dingoes. I loved the Lion Gorge because I like big cats and the Elephants Trail was awesome because they have really cool horns! – Victoria 1/2 Crawford
Mathematics: In week 1, during Mathematics lessons students will be exploring Place Value including it's use during addition and subtraction. In week 2, students will focus on skip counting patterns and their connection to multiplication.
English: During Reading sessions we will be focusing on the book 'The Word Collector'. Students will practise predicting, learning new vocabulary, comparing and contrasting and exploring sentence level meaning.
Students will be refining their ability to write engaging recounts and during this process there will be a large focus on using correct boundary punctuation.
Topic: We will begin to immerse students in our topic 'Through the Generations', beginning our focus on what is has changed over the course of our families lives.
