Maths: For the last fortnight of the term, students will work on Patterns and Algebra. We will be finding hidden rules to patterns, balancing equations, build our fluency with using operations and exploring the use of brackets and order of operations to write number sentences.
Reading: For the last fortnight in Reading, we will continue to explore author’s language choices. Students will continue to participate in small groups and work together to annotate and pull apart a variety of texts to determine why author’s make specific language choices.
Topic and STEAM: Due to some technical issues, our Grade 5 students have had to take a break with Robotics. They will now explore Physics and Engineering and for the remainder of the term, students will design and create a rubber band powered car with recyclables. Within the next week, Grade 5’s have been encouraged to bring in some everyday items such as bottle caps, cardboard, cereal boxes, plastic bottles. Our Grade 6 students will continue to finish off their rubber band cars and race them for the final session.
