Learning & Teaching

Rights, Resilience and Respectful Relationships

As part of the RRRR program we are running a fully subsidised, Co-curricular whole-day event on Wed 6 Sept for all Year 8 students.

Year 8 SEED full day program is an interactive, engaging and empowering program for Girls  The SEED’s experienced educators utilise a variety of mediums and teaching techniques including role-play, art therapy, music and movement, to ensure that all students are engaged and learning throughout each session. Building emotional intelligence and resilience, SEED Workshops will support our girls to take control of their own lives, and to realise their full potential.

Year 8 Connect and Respect Program (working title) is a whole day program for boys  run by some of our passionate and experienced teaching staff. The program aims to support our male students to create their own unique identity that embraces healthy masculinities. They will explore their personal identity, their unique strengths and challenges, how to care for themselves and look out for their mates.

Please Note: Students who are  male identifying or female identifying, gender fluid, gender questioning, transgender or non-binary are encouraged to attend the program that best suits them. I would also encourage any student to chat with Ms Howell, Mr Elliott, Ms Zulfic or myself  with any questions or concerns about participation on the day

Curriculum Day

Thursday 24 August is a student free day so that staff can participate in ongoing professional development. These days are important opportunities for staff to collaborate, learn and plan together. Teachers will continue to work on embedding quality vocabulary instruction into their classrooms and behavioural engagement strategies for improved learning outcomes. Our wonderful Education support staff are also engaged in professional development, planning and collaboration through the day.
