KIOSC - Maths

Knox Innovation Opportunity & Sustainability Centre

Last week, 7D went on an excursion to KIOSC.

Our class 7D was up first for the Spheros.  We had to get into pairs or be by ourselves and get a Sphero and an iPad. Once we got our Spheros and Ipad, we had to connect them. Once we got that all finished up, we got a little demo so we knew what to do and how to code the Spheros. After we became masters we had to go to a maze and strategically code them to the end of the mazes. A couple of people made it to the end of the maze, but others didn't. It was great fun playing with the Spheros and I would definitely do it again.  - Bailey Saccuzzo, 7D

The VR (Virtual Reality) was fun, we had to defuse a bomb, I was with Alex. The person on the outside had to read instructions and the one in VR  had to communicate and listen to the person on the outside's commands. Overall it was really fun!  - Lachlan Don, 7D

On the 3rd of August 2023, 7D, 7J and 7S went to KIOSC. KIOSC was heaps of fun, especially the earthquake activity. In the earthquake activity, we were taught a lot of different things about earthquakes. We also got this disc that we could connect cords to, and we connected it to a computer. On the computer, we could code some commands that sent through to the disc, making some LED art and some music come out of the disc. When we shook the table, the computer showed spikes, showing that there was an "earthquake". Overall, it was very fun and I would very much like to do it again.
