French

Bonjour!

It has been a wonderful few weeks in the French program, students are busy working on their end of term projects and completing assessments to a very high standard!

On the 30th August we had a French puppet show and it was fantastic. The students laughed and danced and I have had some really positive feedback from the different year levels. The show was based on the language of the Jungle book, a text that students in grades 3-6 have been studying in French.

The grades 3-6 have been using the vocabulary they have learnt, along with some French grammar rules, to write their own bilingual book. Students have been so imaginative and creative, using the key words from the Jungle Book to compile their own stories. Below are some examples from 3/4B.

The grade 1/2 students have been working on describing animals and using adjectives such as smaller than (plus petit que) and bigger than (plus grand que). They have also been looking at masculine and feminine nouns, and the grammar rule of adding an -e- to an adjective that is describing a feminine noun. I am so proud of the work they have done this term, and it has been incredible to see the students writing whole sentences in French!

Below are some examples of work from grade 1/2B.

Well done to all students for a lovely Term 3 in French!!

Bonnes vacances à tous!
