A busy end to the term!
Exceptional: What an amazing few weeks we've had since the last edition of our school newsletter, with so many fun and exciting activities that have filled our weeks. A real highlight this term has been the celebration of book week with so many truly amazing costumes come to life by both students and staff alike!
Captured here is a very excited Year 1/2 class who as you can see, were truly proud of their outfits for the day. With the theme this year- 'Read, Grow, Inspire' our students really did showcase how inspired they were by their favourite characters and many unique book costume ideas! Some very clever families out there.
Special mention to our winners in each year level this year:
Prep- Mini
Year 1- Charlie
Year 2- Franky
Year 3- Indy
Year 4- Harper
Year 5- Bonnie
Year 6- Tom
Responsible: In other big Moriac news this week was the very exciting delivery of our new classrooms for next year! Delivered and put in place by a very large crane right on recess time, meant students got to see first hand how the building was delivered and craned into place by the workers.
Watching just how quickly a building was placed on site and put together so quickly was quite impressive and a huge highlight for this students that day! During this whole very careful delivery, the students from across the whole school sat safely on the edge of the basketball court and watched this process excitedly. With so much action going on, the student at all times were so responsible and really got to enjoy the experience.
Respectful: Looking after our school grounds and school equipment is really something the students do so well at Moriac. Whenever the staff ask students to keep spaces clean or tidy our yard it is really done so quickly and efficiently, I only hope they do the same at home and keep their bedrooms as tidy as they do the school! It is with much excitement that I shared pictures of our new Breakfast Cart which has been kindly donated and constructed by the Falconer family- in particular Jarrod who made our new cart from an old trolley. I know I'm biased, but it is the best 'Brekky Cart' I've seen. We look forward to launching breakfast club which will be a 'grab and go' style breakfast allowing the students to eat outside and keep playing in the mornings. Thanks to Mrs Gleeson for coordinating this for the school.
As you can see it has really come up looking the goods! We know out students will look after our cart and love it as much as we do!
With Term 4 gearing up to be even more busy than this term, with so many more highlights to look forward to, including the school concert, we hope that all our families and students have a great break, rest up and enjoy the holidays. I know I will!
Please remember that Term 4 is a 'school hat' term and as the weather warms up and the sun is out more, we need to ensure all students wear their hat at recess and lunch to protect them from the sun.
See you all in a few weeks,
Ms Maccora
