The sense of community and connection we continually aim to foster at John Wollaston is clearly visible in this edition of the Wollaston’s Wrap.
As a nation we have witnessed the power of connection through the unprecedented support given to the Matildas. They have captivated millions through their performance, grit, resilience and inspiration. It was wonderful to see many students and staff come together and show their support this week by wearing a touch of green and gold.
The School’s Founders’ Day provided an opportunity for our community to connect and be uplifted as we celebrated our school’s 34th birthday. The events of the day evoked a sense a pride and joy, excitement and gratitude. It was wonderful to have Fr Jeff Astfalck and Mr John Brett from St Matthew’s Anglican Parish join us for the morning service. As a community, we have raised close to $2300 to be donated to St Matthew’s.
Days such as Founders’ Day require every part of our community to connect and work together. I express my gratitude to the staff across the School, students and families who played a part in the preparation, organization, running and success of our special day.
Anticipation is building for Opening Night of the School’s Production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. We wish the cast and crew every success and congratulate and thank The Arts Department and family supporters for the work undertaken to make it to opening night.
This week’s Wollaston's Wrap is testament to the busyness of the last fortnight, dedication of our staff and commitment of our students with a wealth of academic, service, wellbeing and social events across the School.
Have a wonderful weekend and go the Matildas!
