Tag Rugby Last Friday
The Rugby Day against Greythorn Primary School last Friday was exciting. We got to try a new sport which was challenging but loads of fun. We worked as a team to run forwards and pass backwards to get to the try line. It was bad luck when the tag blew off in the wind and the game was stopped.

Last Friday the Grade 5-6 children ventured out to Hislop Park to participate in the Rugby Gala Day. All of us had an awesome day exploring how to play Tag Rugby. The day included a school dance off and a sack race. Len Mason from the Melbourne Storm and his staff ran a really memorable day.

Sporting Schools - Judo
Sporting Schools is an Australian Government initiative designed to help schools increase children's participation in sport and connect them with community sport opportunities. We are thrilled to bring the Olympic Sport of Judo to OHR during Term 3.
Hi, my name is Maria Swan. I am a black belt in judo and represent Australia in the -78kg senior woman category. I am ranked number 1 in Australia.
I started judo at the age of 2 because my dad was a judo instructor. I began training full time around the age of 13. I am currently 21.
I am originally from Perth but moved to Melbourne just over a year ago to pursue my career in judo. My latest result was at an international tournament in Taipei, where I medalled bronze in the -78kg senior women’s division.
Soon I will be flying to Canada to compete in the Pan-America Oceanic Championship, then soon after flying to Azerbaijan to compete at the Baku Grand Slam.
Judo is an incredible sport that teaches discipline and respect. I’ve deeply enjoyed sharing my love of the sport with the students at Our Holy Redeemer.
I hope to see some students pursue it further.

Our House Captains are preparing a huge whole school fitness/ footy circuit.
We ask the children and staff to wear their fav footy colours and PLEASE donate online.
