The Japanese Word of the Fortnight
どういたしまして(pronounced ‘doh itashi mashite‘) which means ‘You’re welcome’ is the Japanese Word for Week 8 & 9 of Term 3.
You can simply use ‘どういたしまして’ (‘doh itashi mashite) instead of ‘You’re welcome’ when someone says ‘ありがとう’ pronounced ‘aligatoh’ which means ‘Thank you’ to you.
Thank you / ありがとうございます (pronounced ‘aligatoh gozaimas’) for your continuing support for our Japanese program.

JUNIOR SCHOOL COUNCIL
This term JSC is raising money for the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
Thank you to all of the classes who collected money over the past two weeks: Prep A, Prep D, 1B, 1C, 2A, 2B, 2C, all of the Grade 3s, 4C, all the of grade 5s and all of the grade 6s. We raised a total of $102.25.
This week's Social Service Champions were 6C!
GRADE 2 HUMANITIES
This term our Grade Two students have been learning about the local community of Glen Eira. This week the focus was on community collaboration.
Community collaboration is when we work together to help or improve the community. As a collaborative task, all Grade Two students did a clean-up of our schoolgrounds. We found out that many hands make light work!
HEAD LICE
Please be vigilant with your child's head checks, as we are currently having a head lice outbreak throughout the school.
Children's hair should be checked every 2-3 days. If you find head lice or eggs in your child's hair, they need to be treated immediately and cannot return to school until 24 hours after treatment has commenced.
Head Lice treatments are available from the chemist and further information is available at www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au.
Please tie up hair that is collar length or longer in order to minimise the possibility of lice spreading.
