Year 12 Biology Excursion

Earlier this term, an excited Year 12 Biology cohort travelled to Melbourne Uni to gain hands-on experience with a genetics practical using Drosophila melanogaster (fruit fly) and using a diagnostic ELISA technique to detect the presence of influenza flu-antigens in various patients.

Many of our students were blown away by the genetics lab and using the university's equipment for the first time. However, some enjoyed the historic university architecture even more!

Overall, it was an enjoyable day for everyone involved.
