Science Week - Opening Morning

It was wonderful to see our parents visiting classrooms last week on Tuesday 15th August for our Science week open morning. I had the opportunity to visit and engage with the student's science activities. Each year level inquired into how innovation helps us in our world. The inquiries were: Prep - living things, Year 1 - solution to problems (floating & travelling), Year 2 - a smart farm (lego), Year 3 - bridge building with rules, Year 4 - solving community problems, Year 5 - understanding the universe (solar system), Year 6 - innovation for future problems.

Book Week

Last Friday we celebrated Book week, this year's theme was 'read, grow and inspire'.   All students had the opportunity to 'show off' their book character costumes, dancing along to music with confidence and excitement.  It was incredible to see so many students dressed up as their favourite book character and the buzz of anticipation was evident when the 'best dressed' winners were announced.

Student Led Conferences

Each year, students have an active role in presenting their learning progress, achievements and goals through the process of a Student Led conference. This conference enhances student ownership of their learning, promoting self-reflection and to encourage communication between students, parents and teachers. We encourage all parents to book a time on Compass 'Student Led Conferences' via Compass Conferences. Bookings will open from Tuesday 29th August (next week).

Lost Property

Thank you to Andrew, our Facilities Manager who has re-designed the lost property area and created an accessibly hanging space for the lost clothing outside the Junior toilets. Hopefully, students and parents will be able to find and retrieve their lost uniform items. A kindly reminder for parent to please name all of your child's clothing, so they can be easily identified and returned to the correct owner.
