 PRE-PRIMARY LORIKEETS & POSSUMS

Being at school gives us lots of opportunities to pray to God. In Pre-Primary, we have learned that prayer isn’t at one particular time or place. Prayer can be at anytime or anyplace and some of our favourite places to pray are outside in God’s creation and in church. We have learned that communication isn’t just through spoken words, but actions, music, dance and song.

Digital Technologies has been very hands on! After learning about software and hardware, we put this knowledge to use to make our little yellow Beebot friends move! We became the software and told the Beetbot’s how to move to different places. It soon became clear, the importance of planning our Beebot’s path to ensure it reached the correct destination. We used direction arrows to represent this information as a way of recording the instructions we gave to the Beebot.

To link our digital technology achievements to Geography, we are working on creating a map of ‘Our Neighbourhood’ that contains representations of places we think are special, like our homes, school and parks. We discussed the different ways people get around their neighbourhood and look forward to creating a direction path for the Beebots to follow to reach the different places on our neighbourhood map.
