Term 3: Week 3-5

The initial few weeks of term 3 are flying by! As always, we have a very active sporting community at SMJ.

The introduction of the Kelly Sports: After-School Program is off to a terrific start with 40+ students attending Monday's P-6 session. Coach Beau, Coach Max and Mr Poly have really enjoyed having fun with our sporty superstars.

A special congratulations to our Scholarship Recipients who have received a free after-school program for the entire term!

P-3 Award- Patrick Phelan & 4-6 Award- Indy Mitchell.

It is not too late to sign your child up to Kelly Sports!

Parents simply contact Beau Cross: beau@kellysports.com.au or 0428 326 924

He would be more than happy to help you with the process and only pay for the REMAINING sessions.

In weeks 3 and 4 of PE, we continued focusing on the sport of Volleyball. Students have grown a fondness for the simplistic, yet competitive elements of the sport. Furthering their knowledge of the different techniques of 'digging', 'setting' and 'serving' to keep the ball in play for longer rallies.

In week 5 of PE, we focused on Frisbee target practice and control. The students looked into the basic throwing techniques before taking on several throwing challenges.

This leading up to SMJ's first-ever, FRISBEE GOLF 9-HOLE CHAMPIONSHIP, which will take place next week.

If you haven't been informed as of yet, next week will be my (Mr Poly's) final week at SMJ before I embark on my adventure of a lifetime - travelling overseas for 3 months!!!

I will return for the final few weeks in term 4 with plenty of stories to share.

Hope you all take care during this time. I will miss this school and community.
