Visual Arts
Students in 5/6 viewed three paintings by Australian artist Russel Drysdale.
We discussed the colours, shapes and textures evident in his paintings.
Students then used recycled boxes, corrugated card and branches from our garden at St. Bernards to create a homestead set in the outback.
Students in 3/4 have begun looking at papercraft.
To create these medieval castles, students manipulated paper by folding, cutting on the fold, slicing and joining their pieces together.
Students in 1/2 have also begun looking at papercraft. Last week’s work went home (so no photos I’m afraid!) but this is what they made:
Foundation students also took their work home.
We looked at the outline of a jigsaw puzzle piece, and created an imaginative drawing using the jigsaw as a starting point.
