Year 10 Work Experience

During Term 4, all Year 10 students will be required to participate in the Work Experience Program. The program provides an invaluable opportunity for students to learn and develop some of the many skills they need for employment. There are many benefits to students:

  • Best possible start to identifying career options.
  • Meaningful input in the preparation for the transition from school to work.
  • Opportunity to explore possible career pathways.

Information was sent to all Year 10 parents/carers on Wednesday 30th August by Amelia Raper and is included in this newsletter as an attachment.

Students and parents are responsible for sourcing their work experience placements and this can be done either as one placement for Week 9 only or a full fortnight placement. Please note that either option is with the same employer.

Please complete the attached form and return it to Amelia Raper by Wednesday 11th October 2023. It is important that students undertake as much of the communication with employers as possible to practice valuable workplace communication skills. Students are encouraged not to use family businesses or previous work placement.

As a general guide, work experience placements within approximately 2 hours or 200 kms of the College are suitable. This enables the requirements of preplacement checks and visits during the weeks of work experience to be undertaken. If the intended work experience placement is beyond this please contact Amelia Raper at the College to discuss your placement prior to making contact with the work experience host.

Year 12 Students

As mentioned in an earlier edition of the Weekly Wrap this term, Year 12s will commence a series of surveys as they conclude their time at the College. This is the opportunity for students to reflect on their time at the College and provide useful and constructive feedback to further improve the programs and offerings at the College. The surveys will be spread out over the remaining three weeks of this term.

Year 12 students and their parents/carers will receive communication from the College via email in relation to their remaining time at the College and the exit processes. Separate information will also be provided in relation to the Graduation and Prize Day in Term 4.

Stay safe, look after each other and have a great weekend!
