Fundraising and what shall we spend the money on
Recently Junior School Council were asked to meet with their classes to generate some ideas for spending money raised by the upcoming school fair and other fundraising activities.
- More toys/equipment/activities for outside play time. – Giant chess sets etc.
- Cool Learning resources - Light up globes etc.
- Soccer goals
- An extra handyman to help Leo
- Sensory experiences for the wellbeing space - star projector/ tents/magnets
- More flowers around the school
- New playground -upgrade by adding spider-web.
- Basketball- re surfacing
- Soccer field
- Football goals
- New rims
- New art supplies and more sports equipment (for lunch times) (cricket stumps etc )
- Volleyball court
- Ways to keep the basketball court clean
- New furniture for beehive
- More seating benches around the oval, by the soccer pitch and by the beehive.
- Wet day timetable games for classrooms
- Rain shelter in between the tree house and grade 3 area.
- More basketball rings and pumped-up balls to use at playtime.
- Fix the soccer net
- Coding classes
- Acting/drama classes
- Compost bins
- Paint more 2 and 4 square courts
- Fix the speakers down by the oval
- Mini cubby house for people to read quietly in
- Shade cloth over the aftercare playground
- Year 3 elevator fixed
- More spare clothes for wet and muddy days
- School pets – chickens?
- Arcade room or games room, or maybe a Minecraft lunchtime club
- Chess board table
- More toilets
- Table tennis table and club
- Front garden make over
- -First aid equipment at each playground and a button to press to alert the yard duty teacher’s phones (they are often too far away)
- -Veggie garden needs more helpers to make it more fruitful for donating veggies to those in needs.
- -Different lunchtime clubs (gymnastics club/survival club) and promoting existing clubs to the students
- -Solar panels to the school so we can run clean energy
- -Swings (is there a safe spot?)
- -Renovate the staff room to help teachers relax so they are less stressed and more patient with students (pillows/coffee machine).
- General school resources eg:
- Stationery
- Wobble chairs
- ICT – iPads for each year level, 1:1 laptops, extra laptop charging cables,
- Wellbeing room items – eg kinetic sand, more tee-pees
- Actual footy goals with padding (stopping the balls getting stuck on the cricket nets)
- Cricket wickets replace torn soccer nets
- More speakers to hear music in all parts of the school
- Blue shade sail over the soccer pitch
- A seesaw
- Net above the cricket nets to stop the ball going on top of them
- An area that can be used when it is raining with games you can play
- A new mural near the soccer pitch
- Replace / repair the bitumen and rubber surfacing in zone 1
- Repair cubby house
- Upgrade to the toilets in the main building
- Science rooms in the main building
- Christmas Social / picnic after school
- Upgrade to the Foundation playground

Year 3 - Local Member Visit: Mr Anthony Carbines MP
As a part of our Community Unit, ‘Civics and Citizenship’ the Year 3 students invited the local member, Anthony Carbines to talk.
We had lots of questions to ask him about his job and life. He told us all about the decisions he makes, things he likes to do, what’s important to him and much more.

On Wednesday this week, the whole school was invited to show their support for the women’s team in their semi-final against England by wearing green and gold.
Healthy Harold and Life Ed
Students have been enjoying Life Ed sessions with Healthy Harold the giraffe mascot. Last Monday the 14th of August we held a short whole school picnic on the soccer pitch where Harold the giraffe and a Life Ed facilitator joined us, and Harold with the help of a facilitator spoke to everyone and taught the students some cool dance moves.
