Level 2
Dear Level 2 Families,
It has been a busy and exciting term in Level 2! Students have been working hard across all learning areas, and we are so proud of their creativity, curiosity, and enthusiasm for learning. Here’s a snapshot of what we’ve been up to, along with some important upcoming events.
Writing
Students have been researching fascinating minibeasts and turning their findings into information reports. Each student presented their work as a colourful and informative poster. We were so impressed with their ability to research, write clearly, and creatively showcase their learning.
Reading
Our reading focus this term has been on synthesising. Students explored how to combine different pieces of information to form a deeper understanding. They practised skills such as synthesising characters’ feelings, looking across different perspectives, and combining visual and text clues using a range of rich mentor texts.
Mathematics
In Maths, students have been exploring the meaning of multiplication and division through engaging, hands-on activities. This has helped them build strong foundations for understanding number patterns and problem-solving.
Inquiry
Inquiry has been super fun! Students have been designing their very own imaginary minibeasts, inspired by real-life insects and creatures. Next, they will write an information report about their creation, build a model of their minibeast, and design a habitat to present as a diorama. We can’t wait to see their final projects!
Father’s Day Morning
We had such a wonderful morning celebrating Father’s Day with our Level 2 families! The day began with a delicious breakfast, followed by a special assembly. Families were then invited into classrooms for an open session, where students proudly worked alongside their dads and special guests on a fun activity. It was a beautiful way to celebrate the important role fathers and father figures play in our community.
Important Dates
Week 8: Three-Way Conferences
Wednesday, 10th September (2:00–3:30 pm): 2ES students will be in 2SK’s classroom while conferences run in 2ES.
Thursday, 11th September (2:00–3:30 pm): 2SK students will be in 2ES’s classroom while conferences run in 2SK.
Thursday, 11th September (2:00–3:30 pm): If your child is in 2YS, please collect them from their classroom and meet Yasi in the library.
Conferences after 3:30 pm will take place in your child’s classroom.
⏰ Please note: Conference times are strictly 10 minutes to ensure fairness to all families. If you have any concerns to discuss beyond your child’s learning celebration, please arrange a separate appointment.
Week 9: Ugly Bug Ball Exhibition
Thursday, 18th September:
Students will proudly present their creative and imaginary minibeasts in this special exhibition.

Families are warmly invited to join! Students are encouraged to wear a small accessory with their school uniform to represent their minibeast, such as wings, antennae, or a stinger.
