Foundation

It's been a busy couple of weeks in Foundation, and we are expecting the last couple of weeks of Term 3 to be just as busy!
Literacy
We have been learning all about different Australian animals this term and writing informative sentences about them, with a big focus on correct sentence structure. The students have really enjoyed writing about the appearance, diet, habitat and offspring of different animals. During reading sessions, we have been reading a range of fiction and nonfiction Australian animal texts in which we have made predictions, shared wonderings and made inferences and connections between them.
Numeracy
We have been exploring subtraction problems using a range of different hands-on materials to help us to solve problems. This week we will also be looking at how we can use pictures to help represent different subtraction problems.
Father's Day
The Foundation students were really excited to invite our dads and special friends into our classrooms on Monday. The students enjoyed working with their dads to make different things and to do some writing. We love having visitors in our classrooms!
