We're a great mix in Level 6!
It has been a busy two weeks in Level 6! The most exciting part has been the beginning of our Inquiry Projects. This term, the Level 5s and 6s are joining together to create a museum exhibit. Students have chosen a biome to create an animal in, and they have been busy working on creating posters, slideshows and sculptures to represent their understanding of their new-found creature! It has been a blast so far.
In Reading and Writing, we have been exploring foreshadowing and backstory. Students have been learning about suspense and how to create suspense in their writing. To engage with your child's learning, have a go at asking them about the differences and similarities between foreshadowing and backstory. Below are some awesome examples of student's work and how they have incorporated suspense into their written pieces.
For the past 2 weeks, Level 6 students have been exploring Statistics and Data. Students have enjoyed being Statisticians and watching clips from AFL games and recording the relevant data. It's trickier than it looks! They have also been exploring stem-and-leaf graphs, box plots and frequency tables. For the next 2 weeks students will be learning about Cartesian Planes and plotting x-and-y-coordinates.
Level 6 students have been thoroughly enjoying buddies! Last week all buddy classes enjoyed making Father's Day cards and this week, the Level 6 students were able to engage with the Foundations in their learning of Australian Animals.
