Level 4

We have had an amazingly busy few weeks in Level 4. We would like to start by wishing all the Dads/Father figures in our level a very Happy Father’s Day for Sunday. We would also like to thank all the wonderful volunteers who organised the Father’s Day stall and breakfast.
Literacy
In Literacy our students have been enjoying participating in “Book club”. They have been reading a group novel and using reading skills such as predicting, connecting and summarising to enhance their understanding and enjoyment of the text. We are currently revisiting our narrative writing and refining our skills. We are using our thinking skills to generate better ideas for our stories so that we can write richer texts.
Mathematics
In Maths we have been revisiting our knowledge and understanding of the four processes of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. We are using these strategies to help solve problems so that we can use them in everyday life. We have also been incorporating them into our work with area and perimeter.
In
Our Inquiry Unit is drawing to a close. We are drawing together all the elements we have studied and are now working on a final project using digital technology to display our learning. We are looking forward to next week’s visit to the Melbourne Zoo where we will be able to observe the animals we have been learning about.
We are enjoying our weekly sport sessions, playing down ball, hockey, basketball and netball. We enjoy the physical activity as well as learning to be great sports.
