SRC

As school captains, we have been busy with SRC to produce a fun and interactive school community for all ages. Recently, we have collectively decided on a number of dress up days, two of which being Jeans for Genes Day and a Pajama Day.

The Jeans for Genes Day was being held on the 7th of August to raise money to support research into genetic diseases and birth defects in children.

Pyjama Day will be held on Friday the 19th of September. There will not be a gold coin donation required, but rather we are taking a different approach with the sole purpose to educate and raise awareness of children in foster care.

We, as a representative council, hope these days can be fun for children of all ages at this school, as well as raise money and awareness for those in need. Following a change in assembly structure, Mattea and I will no longer be running assembly games. There will instead be interactive games on the alternate weeks, run by the younger SRC students, ensuring all year levels are specifically catered to their needs and VCE students can focus more on their studies.

After reviewing our uniform policy, we’re making some important changes to better support all students. The new approach will focus on comfort and inclusivity, while still upholding a strong sense of school pride.  For example, students are now given the option to purchase and wear logo-less navy pants and shorts, as opposed to those with the logo on them provided by the school. These will be available for purchase from the Front Office in coming weeks.

These updates are shaped by the feedback we've received and through reflecting on what our community needs.
