Our French program has been full of exciting learning experiences this term!
The Year 6 students enjoyed a special visit from the chefs from Whipped Up! during an incursion at our school. The chefs taught the classes how to make delicious crêpes, while using French words for the ingredients and cooking steps. The students had fun learning, cooking, and of course, eating their creations!
The Year 5 students worked hard on a cultural project exploring the regions of France. Each student translated an information sheet from French into English, then used their research to create a colourful bilingual poster. These posters showcased the unique foods, landmarks, and traditions of different French regions.
Meanwhile, the Year 2 students learned French words to describe different feelings. We took photos of the students displaying emotions such as happiness, sadness, anger, and surprise. They decorated their photos and wrote sentences in French to describe how they felt in each picture. This activity helped them connect language learning with real-life expressions.
It has been wonderful to see students across the school being so enthusiastic about learning French!
