Dear Families,
This week, as part of Student Wellbeing, the whole school is focusing on the Character Strength of Perseverence!
Perseverance is a character strength that means not giving up, even when something feels hard or takes a long time to finish. It’s about trying your best, staying focused, and pushing through challenges — whether you're learning something new, practising a skill, or solving a tricky problem. When children show perseverance, they keep going and learn that effort and determination help them succeed.
As part of this focus, each family is invited to contribute to our school “Perseverance in Bloom” display. As a family you would have received a sunflower petal. You can write about a time as a family you have shown perseverance. This could be in any area, such as Sports, Music, Creative Arts, Maths, Science, English, or something you participate in outside of school. You may also choose to paste a photo or draw a picture that represents perseverance.
Some ideas to help you start your sentences are:
"We showed perseverance when..."
"We didn’t give up even though..."
"Perseverance helps me us..."
"We kept going and then..."
“A quote that inspires us is…”
Your petal will be used to make a sunflower in our display on the library doors so please cut around the outline before returning it to school.
Please bring your petal to school by Friday the 29th of August for them to be included in the display.
Thank you for supporting this initiative. Let’s celebrate our determination to keep going!
Warm regards,
Kellie Foley
