Indonesian Independence Day

Ebu Kas

Congratulations!

Congrats to all who participated in the Indonesian Independence Day celebrations and a big thank you to all the student leaders, parents and staff who made it happen.

We started with a decorated bike parade at lunchtime – there were some mean sets of wheels out there! Apologies to our wonderful student leaders who had practised to be our host and commentators for this event – unfortunately I couldn’t get our new sound system working so their commentary was much quieter than planned. Well done Lila, Harriet and Evelyn on your resilience and ability to carry on regardless and complete the exceptionally difficult task of selecting some winners: Alea, Miriam, Aya and Tala (our co-ordinated duo) and Matild. Our judges also wanted to acknowledge some other fantastic sets of wheels that they would have loved to have enough prizes for: Neven, Mathew, Ardan, Cyrus, Maebh, Tom, Ivy and Zaydar. In fact, everyone looked spectacular!

Thanks to unit MMR who taught us a Hari Merdeka game at assembly and finally to the many parents of our Indonesian students who ran the Lomba Krupuk (see photo) at the end of the day.

Selamat Hari Merdeka to all.
