A Message from Keir and Emma

“We would like to acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people, the first people to dream, create, wonder, dance, play and learn on this breathtaking land. This land was cared for and respected for tens of thousands of years. The First Nations people lived in companionship with the animals and the life on this land. We acknowledge that this is stolen land and we pay our respects to elders, past, present and emerging.”

Writers festival & Dress Up Day

Last week we celebrated Book Week with a range of special events, including the Writers Festival on Monday. During the Festival, students from all year levels took part in online workshops led by published authors and illustrators through the Little Scribe website. Our Middles and Seniors also enjoyed story-telling electives, where they had the opportunity to choreograph to music, create a movie trailer, design a comic, bind a book, and much more.

Another highlight of Book Week was our annual dress-up day and parade. It was wonderful to see the creativity and enthusiasm students brought to their costumes, which represented their favourite books and characters. Staff members joined in the fun as well, making it a truly joyful whole-school celebration!

District Athletics Day

Last Friday, more than fifty of our athletes represented BNW at the District Athletics Carnival. Twelve students achieved either first or second place in their events and will now progress to the Divisional Athletics later this term. In true BNW spirit, Max reported that all students displayed fairness, respect, and had plenty of fun on the day. We congratulate everyone who competed and thank Max, Tim, and Katie for supporting the students.

2026 Foundation Enrolments

If you have a child starting Foundation in 2026 and haven’t yet completed an enrolment form, please do so as soon as possible. Planning for our future Foundie transition program is already well underway, and we want to make sure every child has the opportunity to participate so we can set them up for a successful start to school. If you have any questions or need support with the process, please contact our school office.
