Year 3 News

Over the last two weeks the Year 3 students have been completing our Australian Poetry Literacy Unit. The children have become poets themselves, creating their own poems about a journey of a little ant. Next week, we will begin our new literacy unit about the novel ‘The Iron Man’.

In Mathematics, we have been focusing on time using analogue clocks, identifying ‘past’ and ‘to’ times. This is a super easy concept to practise at home by asking your child at random times of the day to identify what the time is.

For Religion, we have been diving deep into learning about the Parable of the Sower and are currently dramatising and filming this parable using real life examples.

Thanks to all those children who have already brought their Reconciliation book back in to be checked. We appreciate the time you have put in to sitting with your child to complete this. If all the Reconciliation children could practise their script card and the Act of Contrition that was sent home in preparation for the Reconciliation Mass.

This mass will take place on August the 29th at 11.30am and families are encouraged to attend.

Year 4 News

Fire Carriers

This week we were lucky enough to have Micheal Chisholm come to Year 4 to talk to us about the FIRE Carrier Program. We learnt that FIRE stands for ‘Friends Igniting Reconciliation through Education’ and what the FIRE carrier program entails. Many of us are very keen to become FIRE carriers at our commissioning later this semester.

Michael also enjoyed meeting Coco who played as a wonderful example of an introduced species through our discussion of native animals and introduced species.

Pen Licences

Last week at assembly 9 hardworking Year 4 handwriters received their Pen Licence which allows them to write their book work in blue biro. They were very excited to be honoured with this privilege and have worked very hard to earn their licence. At our next assembly more pen licences will be distributed, so keep working hard Year 4 as you could be next!!!!!

Coco at the Dog Park

On Thursday Coco invited 4 lucky Year 4 students to go with her to the opening of the Dog Park in Cobram. These students were randomly selected via a spinning wheel! The students had a great time walking down to the dog park and were treated to Hot Chocolates and Donuts and Coco enjoyed too many schmackos!!!!
