Jarrod Cooney Hovarth Parent Session:

We’re pleased to announce a new partnership with SMOTA, St. Joseph’s Numurkah & St. Francis Nathalia to expand access to the Jarrod Cooney Horvath parent learning sessions—both online and in person.

By working together, we’re able to offer a greater range of session dates and times across the three schools. These additional options may better suit your family’s schedule.

Please note that all sessions will cover the same content and be delivered in the same format, so you can choose the time and location that works best for you.

BOOK WEEK

Children’s Book Week is The CBCA’s key highlight national event of the year. In its 80th year, this year’s celebration commences TOMORROW and will run from Saturday 16 to Saturday 23 August.

The 2025 theme is Book an Adventure!

CBCA provides the opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate our Australian authors and illustrators. The children in Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 are listening to the 6 books in the Early Childhood category, while Year 3-6 students are listening to the 6 books nominated for Picture Book of the Year.

A reminder that children can dress up as a character from a story on Wednesday 20th August. We will gather as a school community, first thing Wednesday morning, for a Book Week Parade in the Josephinum.

LIONS CLUB PUBLIC SPEAKING - REGION FINALS

Our future is in great hands. Congratulations Liam Mustica who was the Level 3 and 4 at the region finals in Yarrawonga last weekend. Liam will go forward to the next level on August 31st in Corowa.

GRAND OPENING - MOIRA SHIRE OFF LEASH DOG PARK

We had a fantastic morning celebrating the official opening of the new off leash dog park in Cobram and what a pawsome event it was!

Coco was Guest of Honour (and absolutely knew it). After an opening speech, our students were a part of the ribbon cutting ceremony – a moment we won’t forget!

Hot chocolates and donuts kept the humans happy, while Coco made the most of the new equipment and sniffed out every single person who had a Schmakos in their pocket!

To top it all off, Coco was awarded Runner-Up Best Presented Dog thanks to her matching collar, harness and poo bag setup! She’s now the proud owner of a prize bag full of Schmakos!

Huge thanks to everyone who made the day so special – paws up to Moira Shire for creating such a great space for our furry friends!

🩺 Keep Medical Information Up to Date in PAM / SIMON Everywhere

A gentle reminder to all families to please ensure your child’s medical profile is current in PAM or the SIMON Everywhere app.

This includes:

  • Updating any changes to medical conditions or medications
  • Ensuring Asthma Action Plans and Anaphylaxis Plans are current
  • Uploading the latest copies of these plans directly into PAM/SIMON Everywhere

Having accurate and up-to-date medical information is essential for us to provide the best care and respond quickly in case of an emergency.

⏰ Morning Drop-Off Reminder

We kindly ask that students are not dropped off before 8:30am, as there is no supervision available prior to this time.

To ensure everyone’s safety, children and parents arriving early will need to wait outside the administration building until the glass divider is opened at 8:30am, which signals that the school is officially open.

We’ve noticed a number of students arriving around 8:00am. While we understand that work commitments can make mornings tricky, please be aware that children arriving before 8:30am will be unsupervised, which poses a safety concern.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us keep all students safe and supported.
