Year 12 Book Week

Last Friday, 22 August, Year 12 students embraced a much loved tradition from primary school, the Book Week Dress Up! With our final days of school fast approaching, we took the chance to celebrate in style, arriving dressed as our favourite characters from books and films. From creative group costumes to impressive solo efforts, the day was filled with colour, laughter, and plenty of photoworthy moments.

Adding to the excitement, lunchtime saw the much-anticipated Year 12 Students vs Teachers Basketball game. The match was intense and full of energy, with both sides giving it their all. After a close contest, the teachers claimed victory… again!

It was a fantastic day of fun and community spirit, and we’re already looking forward to the sport dress-up celebration and the Student vs Teacher Football Game on the last day of term.

These events are more than just fun, they are an important way for our Year 12 cohort to come together, strengthen connections, and celebrate our shared journey as we approach the end of our time at school.

Year 11 RYDA Excursion

On Friday, 15 August, Year 11 students travelled to Lilydale for a road safety excursion by RYDA, an education provider that targets youth. Throughout the day, we rotated through different workshops that focused on mood, distractions, driving SOS (So Others Survive), speed and stopping, car safety features and more. The activities were interactive and run by people who were passionate about keeping everyone safe on our roads.

We also had the privilege of listening to the story of someone who had been involved in a fatal car accident 8 years ago. We were given the opportunity to ask him questions about what happened and figure out what caused the crash to occur. His story demonstrated how just a small lapse in concentration can change the lives of so many, instantly. We were very grateful for him sharing what he went through so that hopefully none of use make the same mistakes.

The day was super beneficial for us because we learned about the responsibilities of being good drivers and passengers. Thank you to RYDA for the workshop and the teachers for organising such a successful day.

Year 10 Presentation Ball

Deb rehearsals have been so much fun over the past weeks. It has been so great to see all the dances come together over time and I think it’s safe to say we’re all really excited to perform it for everyone. This week coming we have our last rehearsal which will be extra special as we have our special guests coming to learn a dance with us. Each of us have invited a mum, dad, sibling, grandparent, friend, etc; to come join us for about an hour to learn a fun dance together. We’re all so excited. This experience has been such a memorable one and we can’t wait to bring it to life for everyone.
