Senior School Principal Report

It’s incredible to think that we’re already well past the halfway mark of Term 3. The Senior School has been buzzing with energy, with students engaging in a wide range of activities. Our Year 10 students recently returned from their Mt Buller Camp and are enthusiastically preparing for the upcoming Presentation Ball through their dance rehearsals. Our Year 11 students have recently participated in the RYDA (Rotary Youth Driver Awareness) excursion, gaining valuable insights into road safety and responsible driving. Alongside this, they’ve been busy collaborating on the design of their Year 12 jackets which is a tradition that marks the beginning of their final year journey. Meanwhile, our Year 12 cohort has brought a fun competitive edge to the term, challenging staff in a Basketball match and dressing up for Book Week! A big thank you to all students for embracing these opportunities, and to our dedicated staff who generously give their time to make these events possible.
Since our last newsletter, staff and students have been actively engaged in the subject selection process for 2026. A highlight was our Year 10 into Year 11 Course Counselling Day on Thursday 14 August, which proved to be a great success. Students received tailored advice on subject choices and career pathways from members of our Senior School and Leadership Teams, helping them make informed decisions about their future. The personalised support offered to both students and families was invaluable, encouraging thoughtful conversations and open-mindedness around future possibilities. We deeply appreciate the strong partnership between home and the College, which plays a vital role in shaping positive educational outcomes.
Our school is conducting the annual Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey and is seeking your feedback. The survey, offered by the Department of Education, is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. We sent you an invitation to complete the survey via email on Monday 18 August. If you have misplaced this, please contact the General Office and we can resend this invitation to you.
The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will remain open online until Friday 19 September 2025. Your opinions are important to us and will contribute to identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies. The department will use the results from the survey for research purposes and to improve outcomes for students.
The survey is being conducted online and only takes 20 minutes to complete. It can be completed on any internet enabled device (desktop computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone) and is compatible with most browsers.
