We’re making a splash for a serious cause — raising awareness and funds for RUOK? Day.
As each fundraising milestone is reached, another teacher will be revealed for the dunk tank, leading up to the big event on Wednesday, 11 September. Every splash will be helping to support the vital work of R U OK? Day.
Each donation gets us closer to our goal, strengthening mental health and wellbeing across our school community.
By the middle of term, assignments, assessments, and deadlines can start to pile up and it’s easy to focus only on what’s still unfinished. But one of the best ways to stay motivated is to pause and notice how far you’ve already come.
Research shows that recognising progress boosts motivation, confidence, and overall wellbeing. Acknowledging little wins such as completing homework, improving organisation, or reaching out for help creates momentum and makes the bigger challenges ahead easier to face.
Take a moment today and ask yourself: “What’s one thing I’m proud of this term so far?”
It could be academic (mastering a tricky concept, completing a project) or personal (joining a club, making a new friend, or managing stress better). These reflections remind us that learning isn’t just about grades it’s also about resilience, effort, and growth.
Parents and carers can support this at home by celebrating small wins together. Share them in conversation over dinner, or jot down one thing you’re proud of each week and display it on the fridge. These small routines move the focus from pressure to progress and help sustain motivation during the busier weeks of term.
Success is rarely one giant leap - it’s built step by step and every small win counts.
