Learning and Teaching

Mrs Annie Engellenner
Deputy Principal, Learning and Teaching Leader & Religious Education Leader
Welcome
I am delighted to have joined our school community as the new Deputy Principal. It is a privilege to serve a Catholic school that so clearly values community, excellence and respect, and I am looking forward to working alongside our dedicated staff, supportive families and wonderful students.
As the year unfolds, I look forward to getting to know each of you and contributing to the strong sense of faith, learning and belonging that makes this school such a special place.
Please come and say hello if you see me on the playground.
Learning and Teaching
At Trinity Catholic School, teaching and learning sit at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to providing rich, engaging learning experiences that challenge and support every student to achieve their personal best. Guided by our shared values of community, excellence and respect, we strive to ensure that every child is known, valued and supported on their learning journey.
Thank you to the many parents and carers who attended our recent Parent–Teacher Chats and our Beginning of our School Year Mass. At Trinity, relationships matter deeply. Achieving the best possible outcomes for students is a shared responsibility between school and family. When we work in partnership, with the child at the centre of every decision we make, students thrive. By working together, communicating openly and supporting one another, we create a strong, caring community where every child has the opportunity to grow, learn and flourish.
— when we work together, we build trust, shared understanding and the strong foundations that support every child’s learning and wellbeing.
At the start of the year, we have had a deliberate focus on building our learning community. Students have been exploring important questions such as: What makes a great learner? and What conditions do we need to put in place so that everyone can feel successful and that they truly belong? Through these conversations, students are developing a shared understanding of learning, responsibility and community, helping to create inclusive and inspiring classrooms. Over the coming weeks, students will participate in literacy and numeracy testing. This helps inform our teaching and ensures learning is targeted to each student’s current knowledge and understanding, supporting progress for all learners.
If you have any questions about the teaching and learning program here at Trinity, I would be happy to speak with you.
Religious Education
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God" (Matthew 5:9).
The Lunar New Year in 2026 welcomes the Year of the Horse, according to the Chinese lunar calendar. Celebrated by millions around the world, this is a time for cultural traditions, family reunions, and hopes for good fortune in the coming year. We wish all our Chinese community a wondeful celebration on February 17th.
Loving God,
We thank you for the richness of our cultural traditions and the stories they carry from generation to generation. We give thanks for families gathered together, for moments of reunion, connection and joy. Fill our hearts with hope for the future, and guide us to build a world of understanding, compassion and peace.
Amen.
Thank you for your continued support of our school.
Annie
