Principal's News

How beautiful it would be if each of us, every evening, could say:
Today at school, at home, at work, guided by God, I showed a sign of love towards one of my friends, my parents, an older person! How beautiful!
(Pope Francis- Homily April 28, 2013)
Stand before one another with an open heart and with an open heart
you will dwell in possibility.
Dear Famlies of Trinity Primary School,
From all the staff at Trinity I would like to say a big welcome back and thankyou for a great first week together. As I said at last Friday's school gathering, it is great to have our school holidays and I know many of us would have loved an extra week or so but it is also wonderful to be back at school with our children and their families. Thankyou for the uplifting welcomes each morning and afternoon as you pass through the gate, this is always such a great way to start and finish our days. As you know, we have had a few new staff members join us this year and they have all commented on the warm welcome they have received from parents and how lucky they now feel to be working with your amazing children. Below I have listed our new staff, their roles and contact emails.

We also welcome back Ms Brown who will be teaching Prep each Thursday and Friday and Ms Chloe who will continue as a Learninmg Support Officer. Both are returning after their maternity leave. We congratulate Ms Mandy who completed her Teacher qualifications last year and is returning to Trinity in a classroom teaching capacity working in Year 1/2 with Ms Annie O' Donell and also in Year 5/6 with Ms Jenny.
From our new Prep students to our Year 6's entering their final year of primary school, our children seem extremely well settled and adapting to the changes of classrooms, teachers and friends. As part of Orientation Week, all classes are focussed on establishing their class routines, positive behaviours, ready to learn plans and class expectations. I have included below the rationalle and aims of our Orientation Week.
Rationale:
Orientation Week at Trinity Primary School is an opportunity to create effective learning environments, both within the classroom, and the school community. It is a week set aside to allow for the establishing of a school culture that enables all staff to mentor and facilitate students to become active, self-starting learners.
Aims:
- To build positive relationships through knowing and valuing each student and their family.
- To develop classrooms that encourage cooperation, thinking and sharing of ideas, wonderings and success.
- To provide opportunities for student voice.
- To enhance the development of a school community where young people feel safe, valued, engaged and purposeful.
- To encourage a community of learners where students, families, teachers and the wider community work together in collaboration.
Welcome Family Night
It has now become a great tradition at Trinity to invite all our families to join together at Our Welcome Family Night. This year we will be holding this special event on Thursday 12th February. We would love everyone in our community and their extended famlies to join us in a celebration of our wonderful and diverse community. Families can bring food of their choice or something traditional from their own cultural background. The evening will start at 5:30pm and conclude at 7:30pm. Please also bring drinks (Non Alchoholic) and glasses for your family and knives and forks, we will supply the paper plates and napkins. We look forward to an evening of fun, food and dancing.
Please remember to complete your families SuperHero Cape and return to school so that we can display these on the night.
Parent & Teacher Chats
Thankyou to all those parents who were able to attend our Parent & Teacher chats last night. These meetings are an invaluable opportunity for parents to share important information about their children and also for teachers to get to know the parents of the children in their care. If at any time during the term you have questions or concerns please contact your child's teacher or myself via email or by making an appoinment at the office.
Student Learning Overviews
Each term class teachers and specialists plan an overview of the terms learning using the Victorian Curriculum and a number of other resources. These overviews communicate the main concepts and skills being taught and are an important part of the communication between home and school. I encourage you to read carefully through your child's Learning Overview as this can also help you to support them in their learning at home.

Absenteeism and School Notices
Please be reminded that if your child is going to be absent from school that it is important to call the office or email the class teacher or log the absenteeism through the school website. It is also important that if children are going to be late or picked up early that the school is informed in advance wherever possible.
From time to time the school may also communicate with families in regard to medical issues arising at school for example if there is ever a case of head lice in the school parents may be informed and a link such as this: https://www.health.vic.gov.au/infectious-diseases/head-lice will be shared for your information and treatment of your child if required.
