Mr Daniel Bull - Assistant Head of College - Mission (Acting)

Prayers

As we begin our new school year, we continue to pray with our Jewish brothers and sisters for those who lost their lives in the Bondi attacks in December.

We pray for all those in our Marist community who are grieving at this time, especially the Ortiz family who are mourning the passing of Hector, husband of staff member Sharon and father to Zack (Old Boy 2024) and Aiden (Old Boy 2021). We pray too for the repose of Gerry, Michael Connolly’s father-in-law. May all those who have died rest in the peace of God.

Weekly Masses will start back Week 2. This year we will celebrate Mass every Wednesday at 8:00am and every Break 1B on Friday. House Masses will continue throughout the year on a Wednesday morning, and these have been included in the College Calendar.

Daniel Bull Introduction

I'm delighted to introduce myself as the Acting Assistant Head of College - Mission at Marist during Semester 1 2026. Over the next six months I plan to continue the amazing legacy left by Luke McMahon and Anna Nasr to ensure the Catholic values and mission that guide the school are thoroughly embedded into our College community.

I have been a teacher at Marist for nearly ten years, and for the past 2.5 years have been the Acting Head of Curriculum - Religion. I'm passionate about faith in action and look forward to fostering both the liturgical and social justice wings of our School. Two vital areas that St Marcellin believed were at the forefront of Christian Education. I look forward to working in partnership with all members of our wonderful Marist family as we continue Champagnat's legacy today.

Inaugural Mass, Investiture and Academic Awards

The Inaugural Mass, Investiture and Academic Awards will be our first major whole-of-community gathering to be held this Friday, 30 January at the Royal International Convention Centre (EKKA Showgrounds).

Mass will be celebrated by Archbishop Shane Mackinlay at 11:30am and will be followed by Investiture and Academic Awards. Expected finish ~ 2:00pm.

For further information, please refer to the letter from the Deputy Head of College sent today.
