Canteen Starts Next Week

The year we welcome JD’s Place Pty Ltd. as our new canteen provider. Chantelle and her team currently provide services to several schools and football clubs in the area, and we are excited to recommence lunch orders and over-counter sales starting next Thursday, 5th February. For families with existing Quickcliq accounts, once you login you will be prompted to update your student details.

Community Leaders

The WPS Community Leader Program provides students in Years 4, 5, and 6 with an opportunity to develop their leadership and organisational skills by supporting office staff, classroom teachers, and the leadership team. Students typically serve as Community Leaders once per semester.

Students undertake a range of duties throughout the day, such as:

  • Assisting office staff with administrative tasks
  • Collecting and delivering items to classrooms
  • Environmental duties (such as sweeping paths, watering pot plants, and collecting lost property)
  • Assisting in F-2 classrooms & specialist/library classes, as required

Students may attend school in appropriate casual clothing on their rostered day. In line with the department’s Occupational Health and Safety requirements, singlet tops are not permitted (per the Sunsmart policy), and footwear must be closed-toe. Crocs, slides, thongs, and UGG boots/slippers are not permitted

A roster outlining your child’s selected day will be sent to their class and will also be published in the school newsletter, Primary Post. This event is available to view in Compass and is OPT IN. Please complete the consent in Compass by Friday, 7th February.

Breakfast Club Starts Week 3

Breakfast Club is back for 2026! Starting Monday, 9th February, Breakfast Club will return to the school gymnasium from 8:00 am to 8:30 am. Thank you to our wonderful community volunteers, Casey, Jenny and Cheryl, for making this possible.

Parents and carers are welcome to attend with their children.

Sun Smart

We are reminding families that students must wear a school-approved hat. This supports our commitment to student health, safety and SunSmart practices during outdoor learning and play. It is also a DET requirement.

Acceptable hats include the school combi/bucket hat or the wide-brimmed hat, both of which provide appropriate sun protection.

Students without a hat will be required to play in designated shaded areas during recess and lunch.

We currently have stock available for purchase from the school office, including:

  • School combi/bucket hat – $17
  • School-wide-brimmed hat – $17

We encourage families to organise a hat as soon as possible to ensure students are prepared for outdoor activities. Thank you for your ongoing support in keeping our students safe and sun smart.
