School Routine Reminders

Child Safety and Working With Children Check (WWCC)

St Joseph’s Primary School is committed to providing a safe and child-centred environment. We take active steps to ensure that any person engaged in child-connected or child-related work does not pose a risk to student safety or wellbeing.

All non-teaching staff, volunteers, and visitors are required to:

  • Apply for and hold a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) prior to expressing interest in child-connected work
  • Present their WWCC card to the front office for verification and registration before commencing

Maintaining these requirements is a shared responsibility and an essential part of our commitment to child safety.

Daily Routines and Communication

Morning Drop-Off

Students may be dropped off between 8:30am and 8:50am. Children must not enter the playground or classrooms prior to 8:30am, as supervision does not commence until this time. Students attending before-school tennis or basketball are the exception. Please note that siblings of students participating in these programs must not be left unsupervised during training times.

Afternoon Pick-Up

Dismissal occurs between 3:30pm and 3:40pm. Families are asked to collect children promptly at this time. If you anticipate being delayed, please contact the school office as soon as possible.

Late Arrivals

Students arriving after 8:50am must be signed in by a parent or carer using VPass at the front office before proceeding to class.

Communication with Staff

We value open and respectful communication with families. While emails are always welcome, we find that a brief conversation at drop-off or pick-up can often address matters efficiently.

The priority for all staff at St Joseph’s Primary School is the supervision, wellbeing and learning of students. As such, staff are not able to respond to emails or phone calls immediately during the school day. All correspondence will be acknowledged within a reasonable timeframe, generally within 24 hours.

Families are also reminded that responses should not be expected outside business hours or during school holidays, except in urgent circumstances.
