Welcome to 1/2K in 2026!

We have had a fantastic start to the school year! It has been wonderful welcoming everyone back to the classroom, and we’ve loved seeing so many enthusiastic, smiling faces arriving each morning. To kick off our year together, we have been diving into plenty of 'get to know you' activities, learning all about our new friends and the unique things that make everyone in 1/2K special.

We lift eachother up with Kindness in 1/2K!

In 1/2K, we are flying high! Our first class project was a 'Get to Know You' hot air balloon display that represents our classroom family. This display serves as a daily reminder of our goal to lift each other up with kindness. Just like the balloons, we are all different and unique in our own way, but when we fly together, we make a colorful and beautiful display. We are so proud of how the students have already begun supporting one another, ensuring that everyone feels included and ready to reach their potential this year.

Exploring Our New Space

We’ve also been busy exploring every corner of our new classroom environment! It has been wonderful to see the students diving into new games, curling up with books, and getting creative with their drawing. As we explore these new spaces, we are focusing on working together as a team. Whether it’s sharing markers at the art table or inviting a new friend to join a game.

Maths Groups

The children have enjoyed meeting their teachers for their maths and literacy groups this year. 

The Grade 2's are with Ms Laura and Ms Terri, the Grade 1's are with Ms Kayla. The Grade 1's have been exploring data, drawing tally marks for a collection of objects.

Monday ~ Italian & STEM

Wednesday ~ Art 

Thursday ~ Performing Arts & Physical Education (PE)

Friday ~ Library 

Ms Laura will be in the classroom on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. 

Ms Terri will be in on Thursday and Friday.

This year we will continue to share photos, student work and classroom notices/information with you on Seesaw, which you are able to 'like' and comment on. If you would like to let us know about anything or ask questions you can send us an email or catch us at the green gate.
