Ms Melanie & Ms Georgia
The Prep students have been at school for six days! We are incredibly proud of all the students and how well they have settled into the classroom routines. In each class, they have been listening to and following their teacher's instructions and being kind and respectful to each other.
In literacy, students are learning what a word is and the purpose of words in written and spoken sentences. The students have also been counting words in sentences. We are also practising the formation of numerals using rhymes and songs.
In Maths, the Preps are sorting objects by colour, shape, size, and features. They are also identifying the unit of repeat in a pattern and continuing patterns. We are counting forward by ones to 20 and backward from 10.
On Monday afternoon, the students visited the library and were able to select and borrow books. Please return library books on a Monday. We encourage students to use a library bag to protect our precious library books from water spills, bending, or tearing. A simple pillowcase can be used as a library bag. Students may borrow books only after returning their previously borrowed books. Reading books is a wonderful activity to connect with your child and to build their oral language and vocabulary.
Parents, due to photo permissions, there will be limited photos of your child participating in activities in the newsletter and on Seesaw. Please check that you have ticked the correct options on the photo permission form. Please contact the office if you have any questions.
