5/6W
Mr Will
We have officially begun an exciting year of learning in 5/6W! I am really looking forward to working closely with your children and supporting them as they grow academically and develop confidence, resilience, and independence. Our classroom is a place where effort is valued and mistakes are seen as opportunities to learn. Throughout the term, students will be writing either part, or the whole of our class newsletter. This is a great way to involve students in the process, whilst simultaneously working on writing, editing and ICT skills.
Braiden - I have enjoyed our class mindfulness time, my favourite thing to do is drawing after lunch. Last week we went outside to play a game and I liked playing dodgeball.
Esther -I liked reading Warhorse with the class because it is an excellent book, not only because we had to read, but because I really enjoy it, as it has lots of detail and it is starting to talk about the first World War.
Malakai - I liked sport, art, maths, and inquiry. I really like being in 5/6W and I generally just like the classroom.
Levi - One thing that I really liked is math cause its not to hard and not to easy. I have really liked mindfulness because I get to free draw and be creative.

This term in inquiry we are focusing on democracy in Australia and what it means to be a citizen of Australia. This week, students have started to learn about some of the rules and laws that govern Australia and we have had some fantastic classroom discussions around this. Students also took a practice citizenship test to see how they would score, we found it was a lot more difficult than what we would have thought.

This year, our specialist timetable is as follows:
We have so many incredible things to look forward to in the Grade 5/6 space this term that I thought I would add them here each fortnight to help you keep track!
