5/6L

Welcome!

We have officially kicked off our exciting year of learning in 5/6L! I am so excited to be working alongside your children and supporting them as they grow not only academically, but socially, emotionally, and creatively. Our classroom is a space where curiosity is encouraged, mistakes are celebrated, effort is expected, and everyone is valued. I’m looking forward to building strong relationships with both students and families and working together to make this a positive and successful year for all.

Seesaw

Speaking of building strong relationships, Seesaw is the fabulous platform we use for sharing classroom learning and celebrating student progress. I will regularly share snapshots of learning, classroom moments, student work samples, and assessment pieces so families can see the amazing things happening each week. It’s a wonderful window into our classroom and helps celebrate student effort and growth along the way. Please feel free to like and comment on posts, it makes me feel like one of those popular influencer types!

Specialists

This year, our specialist timetable is as follows:

  • STEM with Ms. Kim
• Wednesday:
  • Art with Ms. Renee
• Thursday:
  • PE with Mr. Brendan
  • Performing Arts with yours truly (Ms. Kim will teach in 5/6L on Thursdays)

Important Dates

We have so many incredible things to look forward to in the Grade 5/6 space this term that I thought I would add them here each fortnight to help you keep track!

Week 3

• Tuesday 10th of February - Assessment & Wellbeing Day.
• Friday 13th of February - Whole school prayer, 8:45 - 9:00am.
• Friday 13th of February - Grade 5/6L Assembly Presentation. SRC badges will also be presented at this assembly.

Week 4

• Tuesday 17th of February - Shrove Tuesday (and yes, we will absolutely be making pancakes to celebrate!).
• Wednesday 18th of February - Ash Wednesday (all are welcome at our whole school Parish mass).
