YEAR 9
Growing Together

Head of Year 9
On Tuesday, the College celebrated our students' academic achievements for Semester 2, 2025. Congratulations to our outstanding Year 9 students, who received Academic Awards for their exceptional work in Semester 2, 2025. Your dedication, curiosity, and consistent effort have truly set you apart. Well done—you should be incredibly proud of what you’ve achieved!
The Week 3 focus for Year 9 is the responsible care and use of school‑issued laptops. It is essential that students take care of both their devices and any accompanying equipment. Laptops must be transported to and from class and the College inside the school‑issued laptop bag. If a student’s bag is damaged, replacement bags are available for purchase from the Library. As most students across the College now use the same laptop model, the Library is no longer able to supply chargers for loan. Please encourage your child to charge their device at home each night or ensure they bring their charger to school.
In Week 2, Year 9 students completed their first Wellio lesson, delivered by their Humanities or Health and Physical Education teacher. The lesson focused on respect, educating students on the importance of treating others in ways that build positive, harmonious relationships. Students also had the opportunity to practice expressing disagreement respectfully and responding appropriately when others disagreed with them.
Due to the Welcome Mass, Tuesday Week A will swap with Wednesday Week A (Periods 1 & 2 only)

It has been a busy start to the 2026 sporting year at St Mary’s College.
My name is Mrs Tanya Draheim, and I am pleased to introduce myself as the new Sports Operations Manager at the College. I am delighted to be joining the St Mary’s community and its dedicated sports team. I look forward to getting to know our students and working alongside them and our staff to provide high-quality sporting programs that support participation, skill development, and personal growth. I am committed to ensuring all students have the opportunity to develop their abilities and reach their full potential through sport.
Students are encouraged to regularly check the noticeboard and the CollegeBulletin for information about upcoming events and important updates. Should you or your child have any questions regarding sporting activities, trials, or events, please feel free to contact me at any time. I look forward to working closely with our families to provide a positive and rewarding sporting experience for all students.
