A Fortress of Self Defense

As the year comes to an end and the weather heats up we’ve been squeezing as much movement out of our junior and senior students as possible.

Down at Molesworth St we’ve been revisiting concepts from throughout the year with; scooter boards, balance work (including stilts, mini see-saws and wobble boards), agility ladders, hula hoops, gymnastics, soccer and basketball.

Up at Errol St it’s been all about Fortress Dodgeball, a wild game involving team work, strategy and lots and lots of equipment!

And across both campuses we have had a little taste of martial arts, with some classes taking part in a Self Defence session run by our friends Lorenzo and Katerina from Northern Mixed Martial Arts. Here we learnt about situational awareness, personal safety and physical defence - an area of focus we will be looking at each Term in 2026.

And be sure keep an eye out for the Health Hacks section starting in PE section of the newsletter in  2026. Throughout the year we will be highlighting snippets of the fortnightly Health content that is integrated into our Physical Education sessions. Some great wellness, nutrition, movement, social and emotional tips from the Health Curriculum will be inbound for students and families alike!

…and lastly. Thank you to these 4 legends from 2C who helped clean up the Molesworth yard…without asking! A big shoutout to Nikola, Sohniaa, Tyson and April!
