Performing Arts News

From Dan, Patrick and Sam, Performing Arts teachers
As we hurdle towards the final act of our show we wanted to share our apprecitation to our wonderful students who made the performing arts program a great success. Your courage, commitment and willingness to give everything a go filled us with pride. Whether you were directing, singing, dancing, acting, playing, supporting classmates, writing or contributing to the incredible atmosphere in our classrooms. You all played an important role in getting this show on the road! So thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
For now we look forward on what our next act will bring and creating exciting opportunites for our students to shine.
On that note we would also like to thank our school community for your feedback regarding ArtFest. It was inspiring, motivating and helpful in allowing us decide the direction of ArtsFest. Based on this feedback we have met with leadership and the Visual Arts team. Excitingly we have decided that ArtsFest as we once knew it, will undergo some alterations in order to further promote student talents and showcase their learning. More on this in the coming year.
For now we hope you have a safe holidays and can't wait to see you all next year. Happy holidays!
Arts Festival feedback
Well over a hundred families took part in our feedback form for the Arts Festival: A big thanks to you all!
The positive responses about art displays were overwhelming, and a clear majority rated the concerts at 9 or 10 out of 10, as the graph below shows. With so much work by students and staff to prepare Art and Performances, it was great to hear so much positive feedback!
With this many students in the space we have, an event like this was not without challenges, so we also thank you all for the constructive feedback. We are doing some hard thinking about how we go about showcasing our student’s talents in the future. As the graph below shows, Building a sense of community; Seeing our children perform; and Building our children’s performance skills were all highly valued by families. The changes we make will be keeping these concepts to the forefront.
